BRIDGING
Empowering Leaders of Color for Transformational Change
At Enterprising Ventures of Color, we believe leaders of color with close proximity to communities they serve are best positioned to develop and implement solutions for transformational change. However, often these leaders of color are going above and beyond to serve their communities with insufficient resources. This is both inequitable and unjust. This is why EVC is working towards a future where these leaders deliver impact from a place of abundance and opportunity rather than scarcity and limitation. The EVC three-part model, with integrated healing and wellbeing offerings, is designed for leaders of color working to advance financial health in their communities. Whether a leader is looking to connect and brainstorm with peers, build certain skill sets, and/or invest in their overall leadership, EVC has something for all leaders of color.

Learn about...
The EVC Leadership Academy is a two-day intensive during which leaders of color will receive training in the Breakthrough Action Leadership (BAL) framework, foster peer connections, and, upon completion, have an opportunity to apply for EVC’s more immersive training opportunities.
Through the two-day leadership academy, leaders will:
-
Reflect on the myths (and facts) of effective leadership.
-
Identify what is and isn’t working about their leadership practices and explore strategies to adopt in moments of stress, challenges, and/or when “feeling stuck”
-
Foster community with other leaders of color thereby strengthening the financial health ecosystem and be invited to an online community for ongoing engagement and resources.
-
Cultivate clarity on how to increase their effectiveness and sphere of influence thereby shifting power.
Empower themselves and each other by debunking harmful narratives and establishing new paradigms for understanding and connecting with their leadership abilities.
Leader Eligibility Criteria
The EVC leadership academy is designed for leaders of color who are serving households of color. Leaders must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
-
Are a person of color (Black women, immigrants, LGBTQ+, non-binary folks are especially encouraged to apply)
-
Serve as a leader in some capacity (nonprofit organization, community leader, religious/spiritual leader, volunteer, etc.)
-
Are able to participate for the full two days
-
Would agree with three of the five statements below:
-
I haven’t attended a person of color-specific training before
-
-
I am grappling with organizational challenges and feeling “stuck”
-
I am questioning whether or not they are effective leaders or how they can “up” their skillset
-
I don’t know what I don’t know
-
I am craving connection and community
